Keeping Warm on a Cold Summers Day at a Wedding

Pashminas are very handy for many types of situations as they’re easy to stick in your handbag if you get too warm. The wool of the pashmina keeps out the cool weather very well, so rather than wearing a big jacket on a breezy summer or spring evening, a shawl will serve as a useful overgarment.

Pashmina shawls are now very stylish as a fashion accessory/apparel for bridesmaids. Recent summers in the United Kingdom have been pretty cold, so perhaps this has promoted this new trend. Cream-coloured pashminas, as well as white and gold are fashionable choices for wedding parties, and look amazing if all the maids of honor have the same colour. Even fine, silk scarves have been spotted at wedding parties this year.

With a larger shawl, it can also transform into a convenient blanket for lengthy trips. And it goes without saying, it can transform into a scarf for wintertime too.

There tends to be two main types of pashmina shawl – the pure pashmina shawl, and the 70% pashmina / 30% silk variety. The mixed pashmina shawl you will find at lower cost than the pure pashmina wool counterpart, but it will be less warm. It’s up to you as to what you want to use your pashmina shawl for. Is it purely for fashion purposes, or ALSO a garment to keep out the cold too? I strongly advocate 100% pashminas to keep out the cold.
